The Gap

Sugar-free chocolate solved one problem. Not the one that matters most.

How It's Made

Four stages, no home kitchen, ever.

01

Core Formulation

Sorghum, millet, peanuts, baobab, and cassava — locking the base recipe for binding, texture, and fiber content in a licensed shared kitchen.

4–8 weeks
02

Chocolate Integration

Real dark chocolate, sweetened with allulose. A compound-coating version is validated in parallel as a hedge against another cocoa price spike.

3–5 weeks
03

Testing & Validation

Lab-verified nutrition panel, gluten testing, water-activity testing for shelf life, and a blind taste test against the category leaders above.

3–6 weeks
04

Pilot Production

First 5,000–10,000 units through a licensed co-packer — never a home kitchen, regardless of what cottage-food law would allow.

6–10 weeks

Why Africa, Why Chocolate

Two jobs, one bar.

Why the ingredients

Sorghum, millet, peanuts, and baobab have fed families across Africa for generations, long before "high fiber" was a label on a box. We're building our sourcing relationships in Zambia first — real farmers, real communities, not an abstract "African" supply chain. They're naturally gluten-free and fiber-dense — not reformulated to fit a claim, just grains, legumes, and fruit that already work that way.

Why chocolate

Unfamiliar, fiber-rich ingredients are a hard sell on their own — they ask people to acquire a new taste. Real chocolate is the trust bridge: it borrows near-universal appeal while carrying the functional story underneath, the same way Kind and Mid-Day Squares built entire categories around the same idea.

Transparency

Disclosed plainly, not just when asked.

No Added Sugar

Sweetened with allulose, not sugar alcohols.

Gluten-Free

Naturally, from the grain up — not reformulated around it.

High Fiber

Built for how you actually want to feel after a snack.

Sourcing disclosure: Phase 1 ingredients — sorghum, millet, peanuts, baobab, cassava — are U.S.-sourced while we validate demand. Phase 2 introduces bambara groundnuts, mongongo nuts, and real munkoyo direct from Zambia, once a defined revenue milestone earns it. We won't claim direct-Zambia sourcing on the label before it's actually true.
